In this book I honestly don't undertand why the women wear a veil over there face that show only their eyes. The children int his story definetly took he veils as a joke . Her mom atcually had to go in disguise bcause she was caught rebelling against the veil. Marjane wants to be a propghet and she sit and "talks and sees God" but the society now had changed and she got in trouble for saying that.Marjane had long discussions with God everynigh but when a conversation about being a prophet came up she asked to change the subject. She probably just said that because she felt guilty or ashamed for denying him to her parents.Eventually, her parents decided that she was old enough to know the truth and that the books were wrong, that God had nothing to do with anything. She learned that her grandfathers father was a prince and how her mother was always afraid of the police taking her family away.Basically the book is writtin like a comic with pictures and speech bubbles.Overall its a good book so far that grabs your attention.
